Inês Lobo-Inverno is a graphic designer based in Porto, with a focus on printed material, arts, and culture. She holds a degree in Graphic Design and a Masters in Contemporary Typographic and Editorial Practices. In her work, she tells visual stories through the combination of words and images, considering graphic design to be an art form with limitless potential for creativity and self-expression.

In addition to design, she finds refuge and inspiration in different art forms. Music is a guiding thread, drawing out melodies that spark ideas. Cinema, is a window to other lives, other worlds, other ways of seeing. Photography is her language of light and shadow, while in ceramics she shapes the invisible with her hands.

Editoral

This book is part of my dissertation on dissertation is part of the master’s degree in Contemporary Typographic and Editorial Practices. It focuses on exploring Editorial Design as a film archive.
The main objective was to evaluate how the cinematographic language can be transferred to a graphic language, giving the designer the ability to create a methodology and to act, in this way, as a filmmaker.

Branding

Inspired by the unfolding light of a projector, we created a logo that celebrates the essence of cinema.
Light, like an artist's gentle touch, fills space with its magic, bringing the invisible to the fore and bringing the intangible to life.
This logo is an ode to the poetry of light and the art of cinema, which silently and persistently project entire worlds with the simple opening of curtains.

Typography

“Maus” is a font created during the masters of typographic practices.
It was drawn on a grid of circles, making it fun to figure out how to make legible letters. I imagine this font being used in fun contexts, due to its relaxed and curved shape.

Branding

“Maus Hábitos” is a café-bar located opposite the “Coliseu do Porto” theatre, with an entrance next to an old garage, it has a cosmopolitan atmosphere where “the erudite and the popular, without prejudice” meet, at the bar counter, at the dining table, in the concert halls, on the patio and in the gallery. It is a place of creative, versatile and multifaceted freedom , and, at every step, it feels like a space for cultural intervention.
